Boy! Did I oversleep!

I don't know what happened. I got to bed a little about 1:00 AM, reasonably early for me. I was really looking forward to getting up and being at Abby's right when she opened at 8 AM. But something happened. Come 8 AM, I could barely stir. I think I woke up, briefly – I'm not sure. I sure didn't get up. I couldn't make myself get up until nearly 10 AM and now here it is 10:15 Martina is bringing me a cup of coffee. I hope this succeeds in getting me going. I've got lots to do today.

A woman and a boy wave back at me from 38 years ago

Margie and Jacob, waving back at me through my lens from 38 years ago. I remember how enchanted I was with the light on that overcast, sometimes rainy, November day. Enchanted too with the beautiful woman and the boy we had made together. And with that I will close out this day and go to bed alone – although I expect a cat or two to pile on before too long.

Lynx watches as his Brothers go off to school and day care

Lynx watches from the window as his brothers go off to daycare and kindergarten. I expect to do no further reporting on the activities of my grandsons before Thursday night at the earliest.

Jobe and Kalib know how to put down an electronic device and look at a TV screen

I am back home in Wasilla now, alone with the cats until Thursday evening when Margie will return. On the drive to Anchorage, there was a news feature about the challenge for today's marketers to get 20-something year olds to put down their electronic devices long enough to look at the TV screen for a while. This is not yet a problem for Jobe and Kalib. They know how to look at a TV screen.
