School Bus of the Day, Number 3: The day is getting short, but the school day must feel  long

I really shouldn't stack three school buses up in one day, and especially so close together as this and the one before. But I do want to use this picture and if I don't use it now I never will. As you can see it is getting dark much earlier now. (Photo taken about 4:30 PM).

Climate Change and Environmental Stewardship Study, Number 2: Bacardi in Ice, Day 2: The ice grows thicker

As anyone can see, the ice is a little thicker today. I had hoped it might be thick enough and strong enough that I could step out on it and bring the camera down directly over the Bacardi bottle, but when I tested it, I heard a cracking sound. Maybe tomorrow.

The Daily School Bus: I didn't want to take a walk, yet I walk

I am on my walk. I did not want to take it. I was busy at my computer making good progress, enjoying the work. I did not want to interrupt it to take a walk. But I need to walk and it's going to be dark pretty soon, plus I have a climate change study to shoot, so I'm going to go shoot it, then go get a coffee and come back home and I can work until midnight or one or two or whenever I decide to stop or get too weary to keep going. I need this walk.

I sleep in, come to Abby's and find two cowboys

After getting almost no sleep the night before, I slept pretty good last night. I woke up at 7:45 and thought, " Oh good! I can be at Abby's right when she opens at eight." But I could hardly move. I knew the house was cold but my covers were warm. Jimmy was curled up underneath the top cover atop the side of my chest, Chicago was tucked in alongside my head. I felt snug and comfy. I closed my eyes again, dozed off and pretty much kept them closed until 9:45. Then I came straight over here to Abby's, walked through the door and found two cowboys at the bar. John and Tim. I ordered an omelette and it was damn good.

Now I await my toast, which is dessert to me. I will eat it, slowly sip my coffee, and then, given the fact that I have a tremendous amount to do between now and when I leave for Barrow Monday afternoon, I will get at it.
