The mountain and the stoplight

Oh, dear!

This is actually from three hours ago, right after Margie, Jobe and I left McDonald's and began the drive to Anchorage. I prepared the Instagram after we reached Anchorage but forgot to mail it to the blog until I got home and saw it was not in the blog.

That was a big surprise to me, as I expected to see it. I then promptly mailed to the blog and now...

A little joke, told by Jack Frost

The Daily Truck: I jokes! I'm not going to start a daily truck series. I came upon this one as I was stopping for a red light in Wasilla. I am in my driveway now. My lack of sleep last night has hit me like a wall falling upon me and I can hardly move to get out of the car. Funny, it is 20°. In a normal year, we wouldn't think anything about 20° right now. We would have had at least some subzero temperatures by now. But this morning, when Margie, Jobe and I got into the car, it felt downright chilly.

The Daily School Bus: in line at McDonald's with Jobe

Jobe in his car seat as we pull into the McDonald's drive-through alongside this school bus. This was one hour ago, as we were leaving Wasilla to bring Jobe home and to leave Margie with him so she can babysit Lynx. Jobe had been so happy to be at grandma and grandpa's house and he was severely disappointed to wake up this morning and learn he had to leave already. I put his boots on him and he kicked them right off. Now that he is home, he is happy again.

I complete my first pass through my Cross Island photos – several more passes to go

Finally, I completed my first pass through all of my Cross Island and related pictures. Considering that I returned home on September 19, you might wonder how it could take so long - that's just the first pass, narrowing it down to, what, I don't know, a few thousand pictures, anyway? I will sort through these again and again and again until finally I wind up with whatever I wind up with.

At the moment, I do not even have a venue to publish it, but I will get one. Uiñiq I hope. It really ought to be a Uiñiq. Kivgiq took my total Uiñiq budget through June 2014. I will have to see if I can get another budget. A year from now would be a good time to publish it, anyway.

Going through the pictures was wonderful – Kind of like living it all over again. When I went to bed last night, I had just one relatively small section of pictures left to go through, but I was just too tired. So I slept for maybe two hours, then woke up and futilely tried to sleep for a couple more hours. At 5 AM, I gave up, got up and finished the initial edit. Jim got up with me and joined me at the computer. He is good that way.

Jobe didn't do such a good Job of taking Lynxton home

Well, Lynx went home alright, but Jobe didn't. Jobe insisted upon staying with his grandma and grandpa tonight. And that is just what he is doing.
