Stuck driver hires tow truck, absconds briefly; Lynxton walking away from his cradleboard

Shortly before I took this picture, I had stopped in at Metro Cafe and found Scot there. He told how, yesterday, he had been out driving in the new snow when he came upon a place where someone had gotten stuck and had apparently called a tow truck to pull him out. The tow truck was parked at a 90 degree angle across the road, blocking all traffic, so Scot had to stop and watch.

Soon, the truck pulled the driver out, then unhitched him. Instead of getting out to pay his bill, the driver punched it and shot out onto the road apparently to escape before he had to pay his bill.

Happily, his car spun out, shot off the road and got stuck again, right there, in front of the tow truck driver, who now had very good justfication to charge him double, at least.

When I passed the stuck car in the top frame, I was on my way to pick Margie up from her babysitting duties. I found her with Lynxton and then had to wait quite awhile with them, because neither parent was home yet. In the sense of standing up and crossing an entire room, Lynxton is not really walking yet, but Margie had him demonstrate how he will take a short stroll of a couple of feet from one support to the next - in this case, from the ottoman to Margie.

Please also note his cradleboard atop the couch in the background. Every day since she started babysitting him, Margie has wrapped Lynxton into that cradleboard for his afternoon nap, which usually lasts a bit over two hours.

Every day, that is, until today. Today, she let him sleep on the bed. He slept good.

I suspect he will sleep in the cradleboard again, but not too many more times - maybe just until he walks all the way across the room.

Look at the trust and challenge in that little man's eyes. I can do it, Gramma M, here I come. He's got a cradleboard behind him and a spaceship on his shirt. Watch out world. Here comes the future! Still checking out your blog and photos every day, Bill, enjoying each and every one of them from Oregon. Don't always have time/initiative to comment but I always check and often recheck favorite photos. Love all the photos of your fellow AKers/families, on land and water. Keep up the good work and happy holidays and healing to you and all your family and friends.
