Jobe dashes into the boarding area without a ticket

We are at the train depot now. Jobe charged in ahead of all of us, bypassed the ticket counter, bypassed the ticket agent, ducked under the barrier and shot out to the train boarding area. His mother had to go chase him down. Then she made him sit down In the corner area while she got our tickets.
Jobe insists on getting into the wrong car

We begin with a slight dispute. Jobe sees me pull in and get out, and immediately climbs into my car. His mom says we are going in her car. No, He wants to go ingrandpa's car and he stubbornly stays in grandpa's car. Then I get into his mom's car, Kallb gets into his mom's car. Suddenly, Jobe gets a panicked look on his face as if he is about to get left behind. He hurries out of my car and comes to mom's car, leaves the door on my car open. I go close it. We are now on our way to the train station and then on to the fair! Jacob is driving. #alaskastatefair
As I drive to catch the train, I pass the train

As I was about to leave Wasilla to join the older boys and their parents to ride the train to the fair in Palmer, I passed the train. I drove a few miles down the highway, pulled over to a side road and started to write this post. As I did, the train passed me. Here it is on the second pass.
The empty nest…?

As I have written before, about a week ago Caleb moved out of the house and into an apartment with Monica. For the first time since Jacob was born on December 5, 1974, this left Margie and me living in a house all by ourselves. We are now "empty nesters." And yet, somehow, the nest does not feel all that empty.
"A little birdie landed in it," Margie explains.
