Hot chocolate awaits them

When the boys came in after their first adventure in the snow this season, Grandma had hot chocolate waiting for them.

Mow the lawn: the boys are always eager to help out

Now that snow is falling, the boys decide it is the perfect time to mow the lawn. We sure do appreciate their great willingness to help out around here.

A few flakes fall and boys go wild

"It's Christmas!" Kalib looked shouted as he looked out the window. These boys then shot out the door and begin to frolic in the first measurable snow since September. Finally, a little snow! I sure hope it doesn't rain next!

That's a fish net Jobe's flying, by the way - for the bigger of my tropical fish. I don't know how he got it.

Saturday as it is, as I remember it, as I want it to be

It's Saturday. I feel lazy, like one ought to feel on Saturday. I want to treat this Saturday as I treated so many Saturdays when I was a child, as these two treat this Saturday right now. But I can't. I got a trip to make Monday and lots to do before I go. But I think I will be lazy and treat this Saturday as Saturday for another hour or two, anyway.

Peace and tranquility here, devastation and death there

As I eat oatmeal with the good black cat at my side: peace and tranquility here, horror and devastation there. The boys are creating great works of art depicting trains and mice. They are completely oblivious to the story playing on the news of the incredibly powerful typhoon that has smacked the Philippines with such destruction and death.
