The Daily School Bus: someone must not have come to work today

The Daily School Bus: as we wait to turn out of the McDonald's parking lot onto the road so I can drive Margie to Anchorage to babysit. We are leaving McDonald's with no breakfast. The drive-through line was 15 cars long at least, maybe more. It reached all the way back to the road. So I parked and went inside to see if it would be quicker, but there were a lot of people in there just standing around waiting. It looked like there was one person taking care of both the drive-through and the inside customers. She looked flustered.

Someone must not have come to work today.

Today's game turned out just as she wanted

Lisa was pretty pleased with the outcome of today's World Series game, which the Red Sox won even as Lisa folded her laundry.

Daughters, baseball and art recognition

Lisa showed up, too, eager to catch what she could of the World Series, game 4. She's a die-hard Cubs fan, but, of course, the Cubs aren't in the series so she's rooting for the Red Sox. The drawing is the work of Charlie, produced during the big art session with the boys. Melanie was pretty sure it was of a character from "Our Gang." She asked me which one it was but I didn't know.

We didn't go for the reindeer, we went for the pumpkins

A lot of things happened at the reindeer farm. The boys rode in wagons, they ran across rolled hay bales, they fell down between those bales. They shot potatoes across the farm with a gigantic slingshot. They drink hot chocolate and petted two dogs. I snapped it all, I intended to blog the whole story. But given all that requires right now I'm going to jump straight ahead to the main reason for going there. Pumpkins. We went there to get pumpkins. Jobe managed to carry this one for maybe 2 feet before he dropped it.
