One more before we leave Daylight Savings Time behind

This is from a little before 4:00 PM, when I pulled up to the drivethrough window of Metro Cafe. Evalina, who is not only learning to fly but is also taking stunt plane lessons and pulling high G's, took our order and then her sister Gwen popped up. Gwen is now working at Metro Cafe. Along with Kristina, that makes three sister baristas.

If anyone who visits this website before I see it again in the morning should find this same picture posted again, either above or below this one, but with a slightly different title and no text, this is just another part of the Squarespace nightmare. I do not wish to take the time or energy to explain.

The good black cat, the bushy-bearded man and the jealous calico

Charlie and Melanie have gone home now, but Jim is still here. I was done posting for the day, but I decided I must post at least one cat picture today.

I almost forgot to mention: Chicago is jealous. But then you can probably see that for yourself.

Little man in a rock

Earlier, as Melanie, Charlie and I walked, we came upon a little man caught in a rock. He kept pointing to the way out but could not get out. There was nothing we could do to help him. We walked on and left him behind. I am pretty sure he is still stuck in that rock, pointing to the way out.

The Daily School Bus: a dip into the archive

I drove to Metro Cafe and back, drove to Hatcher Pass and back and didn't see a school bus. I didn't really expect to. Schoolbuses tend to rest on Saturdays. But I've got plenty of school bus pictures left over from the time I began this school protest to the present. This particular Squarespace nightmare is now in its 42nd day. Here's a leftover school bus from yesterday.

Melanie hit me with a snowball

We got tired of this late season snow-less existence, so we drove a short distance into the snow. Margie, Charlie, Melanie and me. I had barely stepped out of the car to breathe the still warm air when a snowball smacked into me. Melanie points at the car and denies all culpability. The car was her target, she claims. She didn't know the snowball would ricochet off the car into me.

Melanie has always been good at math. She knew.
