We celebrate Lavina's birthday a few days late

We celebrated Lavina's birthday earlier this evening, even though it took place on the 29th. It was easier to pull a larger group of people together tonight, that's why. I'm afraid I blew the birthday cake picture this time. I positioned myself just where I thought the best picture would take place, but my crazy grandsons started blowing the candles out well before they got the cake to her and the spot where I had envisioned the candles casting a pleasing glow upon all three of their faces. Once they started to blow everything happened fast and I just couldn't recover quick enough to get the picture. I could've got it with my "real cameras ," but I haven't been shooting them for awhile.

The party is about to begin

We are at the boys' house now. The athletic demonstrations have begun. The party will soon follow.

The Daily School Bus: a bunch of buses, actually

These buses are  spending the weekend sleeping in a parking lot not far from where the boys live.

The boys and their mom, absorbed in Planes; Caleb really liked the two trains

Kalib, Jobe and their mom – absorbed in Planes. Two trains also made an appearance in this movie and when they did, Kalib got really excited. He liked the airplanes, alright, but he is definitely a train man. Jobe is definitely an airplane man – just like his grandpa and his great grandpa. His Uncle Ron too, who he will never meet in this life. We had seats in a booth with a dinner table at the very back of the theater, so I could get away with taking a couple of pictures.

We munch on popcorn as we eagerly await the start of Planes

Now we eat popcorn and snacks and eagerly look at the screen as we wait for the movie to start.
