Wind stops, rain ceases, clouds diminish, sun shines on yellowing leaves, airplane flies: Shadow Me comes walking with me

The wind stopped, the rain ceased, the clouds diminished and I went on a late morning walk. Above me, an airplane flew by. The pilot looked down upon yellowing leaves.

I did not walk alone. Shadow Me walked with me.

At the top of Ward's Street, Shadow Me grew worried. He did not know if he could handle the steepness of the hill.

"Shadow!" I shouted. "You have walked down this hill many times! And so many slopes so much steeper. And don't you remember when you were younger and you inched your way down sheer cliffs with me? Don't you???? Don't you?????"

Shadow Me gathered up his courage. Shadow Me set off to walk down the hill.

Shadow Me is very friendly. Shadow Me waved at the driver of a pickup truck coming up the hill. The driver waved back.

Shadow Me has always maintained that he is actually a shadow duck in shadow human disguise. I have never believed it. And yet... today... I saw shadow duck tail feathers extending from Shadow Me's rear. Furthermore, he waddled with his head in the clouds, just the way a shadow duck in shadow human disguise so lonesome to fly again would.

Hmmm.... maybe Shadow Me really is a shadow duck in shadow human disguise.

Margie and I took lunch at Taco Bell. I saw they suffered a bit of wind damage, too. Margie is sick. She is not feeling well at all. Lavina is sick. Jacob is sick. Jobe is sick. I suppose I'll be sick, next. I hope it soon passes for all of us - and for any of you who may have been struck, too.

I am sorry so many of your family are sick. No fun! I was quite ill a week ago. Heart attack! I was fixed up very quickly and am recovering nicely. I can not wait for my Shadow to decide we are well enough to go walking again. I miss it.

Kathryn - I'm sorry to learn this - but glad you are recovering nicely. Nothing will be better for you than the walks you and Shadow You can take - and on those days when she refuses to show herself, walk anyway.
