Jobe takes breakfast at Abby's, along with a cowboy: Three iPhone studies

I took Jobe to breakfast at Abby's this morning. I invited Margie, too, but, as she had spent the entire week so far with grandchildren, she wanted to stay home and have some alone time. This was okay with me, as I like to buddy around with Jobe, just the two of us. At the same time, I was a little apprehensive, wondering how it might go. At a restaurant, Jobe can be a cute little time bomb, suddenly to explode in an uncontainable burst of energy that will either send him bouncing all over the restaurant or struggling with protest to do so.

It especially worried me when he at first refused to walk through the door at Abby's. Finally, I coaxed him through, he stepped inside, saw Abby's at the counter, shrieked in terror and tried to fight his way back out.

I don't think he got enough sleep last night. I know I sure didn't - and he slept right beside me.

Once he accepted the fact that we were in the restaurant to stay, Jobe immediately rejected his fear of Abby, accepted her as the good human being that she is and turned his attention to eating.

Jobe, at Abby's Home Cooking, as a cowboy plays with his phone.

We have a lot of cowboys around here, but not much cattle.

he reminds me so much of his Mom...glad he ended up enjoying his breakfast. The next time he'll probably run right in.

glad you and jobe had alone time. wonder what the cowboy would've played with if he didn't have his phone? very few people can sit quietly and just be present.
